St Louis is known for many things, and this band will be one of those once you hear this album.
The Gateway to the West is just another rail to grind for these guys, their new self titled full length is chock full of midwestern values and bile. It's heavy, it's progressive, it's shocking that it's on a smaller label known for ska rather than good ol' Fat Wreck style skate punk.
Kicking off this self-titled gem with some good fun, Where's My Beer sets the tone for 8 tracks of high energy mayhem. It's not going to be all fun and games tho, this band has chops, thoughts and rage to spare. Max Out of Pocket is a scorched earth indictment of the American Healthcare System and its need for profit over actually keeping us alive. Business as Usual erupts from the speakers full throttle pointing fingers at the source of societal woes. Papist Rapist, well you get what i'm saying. This isn't a band that is just party anthems. There are issues to address, and this squad is not afraid to speak up. Loudly.
Reinforcing their vitriol are the instruments themselves. Growling bass, searing guitars, and a tight hammering drummer drive it all into school with maximum force.
I can't help but imagine this band landing on the aforementioned big label. The sound is at times old Propagandhi, Ten Foot Pole, NoFX, and Good Riddance but clearly still very much NoPoint.
If you enjoy any of those bands just mentioned then you owe it to yourself and your neighbors to check out this fantastic band from the STL. 314 Represent!
